Low-sensory voting
If you need a quieter and calmer environment to vote in the Nepean District by-election due to sensory overwhelm, you can come to our low-sensory quiet hours session.
This session is designed to create a welcoming and calm environment away from the regular noise and stimulation of a voting centre.
When: Tuesday 21 April, 10 am to 4 pm
Where: Dromana Community Hall, 359 Point Nepean Road, Dromana
Wherever possible, during the session you’ll notice:
- natural lighting instead of artificial lighting
- extra space around voting booths
- a temperature-controlled environment
- a quieter voting centre
We will also have staff who know how to support people with a non-visible disability at this session.
Family and friends supporting a person who experiences sensory overwhelm can also vote during the session.
