Procurement

We procure goods and services in-line with the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) principles and policies.

Procurement activity plan

The procurement activity plan is a summary of our planned procurement activities in the next 12-18 months.

We may change or cancel the activities in this plan at any time. We may also purchase goods or services that are not listed, in-line with Victorian Government standards.

Our plan will be available on this website by 1 August. If you need more information before then, you can email us or call 131 832.

How we buy goods and services

We are committed to ethical, sustainable and socially responsible procurement.

Our supplier code of conduct explains the minimum standards that you must meet to work with us.

We also use our buying power to make a difference. We value suppliers who have a positive social, economic or environmental impact. Learn about the Social Procurement Framework on the Buying for Victoria website.

How to make a complaint

Our complaints process is consistent, fair and transparent.

Most of the time, we can help you resolve problems directly. If you have an issue or concern, contact the team or staff member you have been dealing with.

If we can't resolve the issue, you can lodge a formal complaint by email or letter addressed to:

Chief procurement officer
Victorian Electoral Commission
Level 11, 530 Collins Street
Melbourne VIC 3000

You must provide a short written statement that includes:

  • the reason for your complaint with specific details
  • any background information (i.e. steps you already took, or examples of communications)
  • an explanation of how it has affected you or your organisation
  • your desired outcome
  • copies of evidence supporting your complaint.

We will send an acknowledgement within 5 working days of receiving your complaint. We will formally respond within 20 working days.

We will let you know if we need more time or information.

If you're unhappy with the outcome

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can refer your complaint to the VGPB  for review.

Other bodies that might be able to help include the:
