We're holding a countback for Glenelg Shire Council after Mike Noske resigned on 28 April 2026.

We'll hold a countback of votes from the October 2024 Glenelg Shire Council election. This countback will include all remaining eligible candidates who weren't successful at that election.

Countback details

We'll stream the countback online through Microsoft Teams at 10:30 am on Monday 1 June.

We'll share a link to watch the countback at 10:00 am on the morning of the countback.

    An extraordinary vacancy has occurred within Glenelg Shire Council due to the resignation of Councillor Mike Noske on Tuesday 28 April 2026.

    The vacancy will be filled through a countback of the formal ballot papers cast at the last general election in October 2024.

    Votes will be redistributed to candidates who were unsuccessful at that general election, and who remain eligible to participate in the countback, to fill the extraordinary vacancy.

    The countback will take place at 10:30 am on Monday 1 June 2026.

    The Victorian Electoral Commission will be hosting the countback online via webinar from 10 am on Monday 1 June 2026. Interested parties may observe the countback by visiting vec.vic.gov.au

    The result will be published online at vec.vic.gov.au following the countback.
