New councillor for Golden Plains Shire Council

Dominic Cook has been elected as a councillor on Golden Plains Shire Council, after the Victorian Electoral Commission conducted a countback of votes from the October 2024 general election.

The election manager, Kym Ham, declared the result at 4 pm yesterday.

The countback included unsuccessful candidates who were still eligible for election. Mr Cook was the last eligible candidate standing.

The vacancy on Golden Plains Shire Council occurred after the resignation of Councillor Brett Brian Cunningham.
