Election day this Saturday for Prahran and Werribee District by-elections

Election day is this Saturday 8 February for the Prahran and Werribee District by-elections. Voters who haven’t voted early or applied for a postal vote will be able to vote on election day from 8 am to 6 pm.
During the first week of early voting, 4,327 early votes were cast in Prahran District, representing 9% of the total enrolment of 48,164 electors. A further 19% have applied to vote by post.
For Werribee District, 9,111 early votes were cast in the first week (16% of the total enrolment), with 13% applying for a postal vote.
Postal vote applications close at 6 pm Wednesday 5 February. Early voting centres continue to operate throughout this week at the locations listed below:
Prahran:
- 21-23 Chapel Street, Windsor (IWA)
- Ground Floor, 60 Wilson Street (access via Ellis Street), South Yarra (AWA).
Werribee:
- 22 Princes Highway, Werribee (IWA)
- 1st Iramoo Scout Hall, 66 Honour Avenue, Wyndham Vale (AWA).

Electoral Commissioner Sven Bluemmel reminded Prahran and Werribee District residents that voting in these by-elections is compulsory for all enrolled voters in the districts.
'If you've got plans for this Saturday, make sure you vote early during the week or apply for a postal vote by the deadline,' Mr Bluemmel said. 'There's a convenient option for all voters.'
Voters who are blind, have low vision or have a physical disability and can’t vote without assistance, can vote by telephone on 131 832.
