My name is Sue Ellison-Whyte. The Mornington Peninsula is where my family has developed roots. As a local business owner and lawyer, I've built my career here too, however it's watching my son grow up on these beaches, bushland and streets that's shaped how I think about what Briars Ward needs. I want the same well-connected community for every family here that mine has enjoyed. Our roads and footpaths deserve real, consistent investment. I'll push hard for safer walking and cycling infrastructure, including a dedicated offroad bike path along the esplanade from Mount Martha to Dromana, so families, walkers and cyclists can move safely between our coastal towns. Parking pressure in our villages and beaches need sensible, well-planned solutions, and I want to strengthen safety and community social cohesion so every family feels secure at home and out enjoying our coastline. I'm accessible, accountable, and understand this community because I've lived it, raising my own family here. I'd be honoured to bring my local business experience and genuine investment in this community to work for you on council. I'd love your vote to help make Briars Ward better connected and more special for the families who call it home.

Like you, I love living in Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula. I am grateful to be raising my family here. I am standing as a candidate for the Briars Ward because I want to ensure our community is well represented. If elected, I will be a councillor who listens to residents and stands up for what matters most. I am committed to ensuring every dollar is well spent, to get the best outcomes for our community. I support the Shire's commitment to protecting the green wedge and the unique character of the Mornington Peninsula. I will advocate for well-maintained roads; safer intersections, including Uralla Road; faster repairs to local facilities, including the Balcombe Estuary boardwalk and Birdrock stairs; and improved sporting and recreational facilities, such as Ferrero Reserve. I bring leadership and governance experience across family businesses, charities, multinationals and health services, combining practical business experience with a community-minded approach. This is strengthened by a Commerce degree and as a fellow of Leadership Victoria’s Williamson Community Leadership Program. I want our community to thrive and for the Mornington Peninsula to remain a place we are grateful to call home, both now and for generations to come.
