We will hold a by-election in Yarraman Ward on Greater Dandenong City Council this March, after the election to Victorian Parliament of Councillor Eden Foster.
Voting in this by-election will be by post.
We will post ballot packs to enrolled voters from Tuesday 20 February.
The ballot pack will contain:
- a ballot paper
- candidate statements
- a ballot paper envelope (for your vote to go in)
- a reply-paid envelope (for your ballot paper envelope to go in)
- a multi-language leaflet.
How to vote
Follow the instructions on the ballot pack to complete your vote.
Before 6 pm on Friday 8 March you must:
- make sure your vote is in the mail
- drop it off at the election office.
Local post box collection times differ. Check the collection time on your post box to make sure your vote is in the mail on time.
My ballot pack has not arrived
If you are on the roll and do not get a ballot pack by Wednesday 28 February, contact the election office on 03 9678 1488 to request a replacement.
My ballot pack is lost or damaged
If you have lost your ballot pack, or your ballot pack is damaged, contact the election office on 03 9678 1488 to request a replacement.
I'm away or have changed address
You can ask to have your ballot pack sent to a different address if:
- you will be away when ballot packs are mailed (after Tuesday 20 February) or
- your mailing address has changed since the close of roll (Friday 12 January).
If you moved within or out of Yarraman Ward since the close of roll you must vote or risk a fine.
Applications for a replacement ballot pack open on Tuesday 20 February.
If you own more than one property in the ward
You are enrolled once and will get one vote for this by-election.
If you are a state-enrolled voter, you are enrolled at your principal address only and must vote.
If you are a council-enrolled voter with more than one address in the ward, you are enrolled once and will get one ballot pack only.

You must vote if you are a state-enrolled voter in Yarraman Ward as at 4 pm on Friday 12 January.
If you don't vote, you may get a fine.

Candidate statement and questionnaire
If you nominated, you can submit a 300-word candidate statement, photo and response to the candidate questionnaire.
If you haven’t already, you must lodge these with the election manager by appointment before 12 noon on Wednesday 7 February.
