Over 47,000 enrolled in Mulgrave District by-election

Over 47,000 people in Mulgrave District are expected to vote in the upcoming by-election after the roll closed on Monday 30 October, with a final enrolment number of 47,142.

Early voting begins on Wednesday 8 November, with early voting centres open until Friday 17 November. Details of opening hours and accessibility ratings are available on the VEC’s online voting centre locator, at maps.vec.vic.gov.au/elections

Voters unable to vote early or on election day can apply for a postal vote. Postal vote applications are available: 

  • online at vec.vic.gov.au
  • at any post office in Mulgrave District
  • at the election office at Suite G.02 (Ground Floor), 745 Springvale Road, Mulgrave
  • by calling 03 9678 1408.

Applications for postal votes must be received by 6 pm on Wednesday 15 November. Completed ballot papers must be in the mail or hand-delivered to a voting centre before 6 pm on election day, Saturday 18 November.

Voting is compulsory for all voters on the roll in Mulgrave District at the close of roll (8 pm Monday 30 October).

Nominations closed at 12 noon on Wednesday 1 November for candidates endorsed by a registered political party and 12 noon on Thursday 2 November for independent candidates.
