A vacancy has occurred on Glenelg Shire Council due to the resignation of Councillor Chrissy Hawker on Friday 20 October.
The vacancy will be filled through a countback of all the votes from the last general election held in October 2020. It will include all remaining eligible candidates who were not elected at the general election.

Countback details
The countback will be streamed online through Microsoft Teams at 10 am on Monday 4 December.
The link to watch the countback will be available 30 minutes before the start time.
How to watch the countback
You can join a Microsoft Teams meeting from any device, even if you don't have a Microsoft account.
Watch the countback on your computer
- Click 'Watch countback' (available 30 minutes before the scheduled start time).
- Click 'Continue on this browser'.
- Next, you will be prompted to allow camera and microphone access. Click 'Continue without audio or video'.
- Enter your name.
- When you're ready, click 'Join now'.

Watch the countback on your phone
To watch the countback on your phone, you'll need to download the Microsoft Teams app from Google Play (Android devices) or App Store (Apple devices).
- Tap 'Watch countback' (available 30 minutes before the scheduled start time).
- Tap 'Join meeting'.
- You'll be prompted to open the Teams app.
- Next, tap 'Join as guest'.
- Enter your name.
- When you're ready, tap 'Join meeting'.
