The Minister for Local Government approved a new ward structure for Mornington Peninsula Shire Council following the recent electoral representation review conducted by the VEC.
The VEC recommended that Mornington Peninsula Shire Council consist of 11 councillors elected from six wards with two three-councillor wards, one two-councillor ward, and three single-councillor wards.
This new structure will take effect from the Council elections in October 2012.
