The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) conducts State elections and by-elections, and Council
elections and by-elections.
General election dates are set and occur every four years. The next State election will be held
on 29 November 2014 and the next Council elections will be held on 27 October 2012. However, State
and Council by-elections can be held at any time.
There are two primary categories of electoral related appointments that the VEC can offer:
• Election day assistance in voting centres; or
• Election administration activities during an election or by-election.
